The best soul food restaurant in the A-T-L! If you want soul food like Momma made, this is the place. I love the entire menu!!! Have yourself an uptown and pick an entree, any entree… I guarantee you’ll love it. Don’t forget to save room for dessert Oh, this is another one of those places you’ll need to get to at opening, if you don’t want to stand in a long line. Enjoy!!!

Busy Bee Cafe is southern food done right.
I came in Wednesday night for a quick bite to eat with a friend and was in a decidedly bad mood to be out eating on the exact opposite side of town from where I live.
In any case, I fast became delighted with the food that was served up — perfectly crisp fried chicken with juicy, tender meat…amazing collard greens… the most comforting sweet potatoes you could ever imagine. It was all sooooo good. And… sooooo affordable!
I docked a point in relation to what a previous reader said about the cleanliness. The restaurant was not as horribly dirty as was made out to be in the review, but the tables could use a good wipe down with some 409.
All and all though, I was very pleased by this experience and will most certainly come back!

If you are old enough to remember when yo Big Mama made every dish from scratch (or just extremely) lucky, then you need to run, not walk, to Busy Bee’s right now. This place is the very definition of “hole in da wall”. No better Soul Food in the ATL

This place is scary good!!! Reminds me of grandma’s home cooking!!! I went with my two sons while visiting Atlanta on business. My kids didn’t know what to think when we drove up. The area that the restaurant is located would be a little unsettling for some who may not be familiar with this type of environment, but I felt okay. Hey, I grew up in a neighborhood pretty similar. LOL!
As far as the food, the fried chicken is very good as the other people stated. The collards were just right and the mac and cheese were the real deal. None of that mac and cheese from a box.
Next time I’m in town, I’m definitely bringing the girlfriend!
By the way, parking is a premium as there’s a small parking lot and the wait area for a table is extremely small. Still, this place is on my list of soul food spots on the East Coast!

You never know who you might see while dining here. Last time I was there, sat next to Tommy from Martin (Lawrence).
